License Professional Counselor

M Y   B A C K G R O U N D

​

I am a license professional counselor in Georgia and Alabama and a national certified counselor. I hold a PhD in counselor education and supervision from Auburn University, a master's degree (M.S.) in counseling & psychology, a certified clinical trauma professional, and a certification in substance addiction. I have been a counselor since 2017. I spend a tremendous amount of time conducting presentations at local, state, and national conferences/ through virtual webinars. I am a adjunct professor at Troy University and Liberty University. I am a 15 year veteran educator and a Veteran of the United States Army.

I am a member of various state and national organizations that allows me to consistently engage in presentations that provide scientific support and guidance to other counseling professionals. I serve in various state counselor leadership positions that allows me the opportunity to advocate/ empower people who face oppression and inequity in mental health, medical care, and employment rights. I have a strong interest in providing resources and prevention tools for: people experiencing suicide ideation,  incarcerated and post released women, finding adequate tools to help couples redefine their relationship, and extending professional development support for public school educators to promote change of perspective in understanding psycho-social aspects that may prevent students’ ability to learn. I often engage in research projects to support these interests and improve my practice performance with clients.
